The 2008 Tivoli Theatre Seat Plaque Campaign starts May 1, 2008 for a limited time only (ends June 30, 2008). Sponsor a seat in the Tivoli Theatre for $100 to permanently recognize an individual or individuals. Each sponsor will receive a brass plaque installed on the back of a Tivoli seat engraved with the name(s) specified by the sponsor with the heading reading either "In Honor Of" or "In Memory Of." Each sponsor will also receive a free copy of the full-color booklet "Tivoli: The Jewel of the South," which depicts the rich history of Chattanooga's favorite showplace. Kickoff to TaleSpin, a three-day storytelling festival presented by the Chattanooga Downtown Partnership. Festivities start Thursday evening at the Tivoli, then the action moves to Coolidge Park and the Creative Discovery Museum. The art of storytelling decorates the history of mankind. Throughout the ages, storytelling has been enjoyed as a wholesome form of entertainment, a traditional avenue for teaching life lessons, and a timeless way of connecting generations. Also scheduled for 2008 release are “The Grand,” an improvisational comedy focused around a live poker tournament, and “Next Day Air.” Mike is perhaps best known for perfecting the role of “Day-Day” opposite Ice Cube in the popular series "Next Friday" and "Friday After Next." Mike’s impressive resume also lists starring roles in such films as "All About the Benjamins," "How High," "The Fighting Temptations," and most recently "The Honeymooners" and "Roll Bounce." A 10-year veteran of The Cathedrals, one of the greatest quartets in Gospel music, Ernie Haase wanted to create a team that was all 21st century in image and attitude, yet whose stage performance and musical material borrowed liberally from the great quartets of the 1950s. With the assistance of lead singer Ryan Seaton, baritone Doug Anderson, bass singer Tim Duncan, pianist Roy Webb, and sound engineer David Griffith, Haase has achieved his goal. Dulcimer Players News Magazine and TAPA present the 2008 Chattanooga Dulcimer Festival at Memorial Auditorium. This progressive, three-day festival focuses on both advanced techniques and rudiments with plenty of time for fun, with instruction and jams for advanced players and beginners alike. Workshops for all skill levels will be offered in mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, bowed dulcimer, autoharp and fiddle. The Festival also offers concerts featuring multiple Winfield National Championship winners. These concerts are open to the public at 8:00 pm (EDT) both Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21.
