Recruitment #: #06-T10100-01 Position Title: School Bus Driver Department: Human Services Division: Head Start Salary Range: $9.65/hour for actual work hours License: Class A, B, or C driver's license with P & S endorsements Screening: A rating of training and experience will be administered. (06-0091 SDR/LW) Examples of Duties: Performs daily pre-trip inspection; drives assigned bus route and scheduled field trips; cleans bus; maintains assigned equipment; establishes rapport with children, parents and staff; delivers mail to other centers; follows all safety procedures and policies; and documents bus activities. Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED; and six months of experience driving heavy vehicles or school buses. Must be able to work split shifts [6:30am to 8:30 am, 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 am, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (depending upon loading time)] and be available to drive classroom field trips (9:30 am - 12:30 p.m.); required to have knowledge of City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County streets. Successful candidates must have a good driving record with at least five years of commercial motor vehicle unrestricted driving experience AND must be able to obtain a Child Care Certification from the Tennessee Department of Safety. Certification in CPR and First Aid prior to hire are preferred. Will be required to take hearing, vision, TB, drug and alcohol tests after hire and submit to fingerprinting and background investigation.
