Position Title: Family Services Assistant
Department: Human Services
Division: Head Start
Salary Range: $11,356 to $14,441 (based on 195 days/yr.; salary depends on education and experience)
License: Must obtain a commercial driver's license and endorsements within 90 days of being hired.
Screening: Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be considered. (06-0090 SDR/VH)

Examples of Duties: Under the direction of the center's Family Services Supervisor, the Family Services Assistant serves as an advocate to the parents in obtaining the involvement in the implementation of the total social services delivery system of the Head Start/EHS program; and assists in providing transportation to children and parents.

Minimum Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and three months experience in working with families, preferably low-income through job-related or volunteer work.  Priority given to parents, if qualified.  Must have a valid driver's license, and obtain a Commercial Driver's License with P&S Endorsements within 90 days, and drive a 20 passenger busette.  May be required to obtain a Child Care Certification from the Tennessee Department of Safety.
