Position Title: Teacher Assistant for Head Start/Early Head Start
Department: Human Services
Division: Head Start/Early Head Start
Salary Range: $11,834 to $17,212 Based on Education & Experience
License: Class D Driver's License
Screening: Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be considered. (05-0013 SDR/MA)

Examples of Duties: Assists in the supervision of classroom/playground activities as directed by the teacher; responsible for conducting the classroom according to schedule and lesson plan in the teacher's absence; provides assistance to the children with self-help activities; attends in-service training and workshops; and performs other related duties as assigned.  Job is for 7 hours per day, 195 days per year.

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED completion AND six (6) months of experience as a paid worker or volunteer working with children from birth to four years of age in early childhood classrooms.  Desirable to have Childhood Development Credential (CDA) or associate degree in early childhood education and the ability to relate to children and adults.
