Position Title: Survey Instrument Technician
Department: Public Works
Division: Engineering
Salary Range: $25,964 - $39,946
License: Must have a regular Class D driver's license.
Screening: A rating of training and experience will be administered. 07-0019;nk

Examples of Duties: Performs technical work functions associated with surveying property and roads, gathering data for design of projects, and assisting in field design of drainage projects.  Conducts land surveys, operating various equipment and machinery associated with surveying activities such as utility vehicle, electronic data collector, field-to-finish survey instruments, automatic compensated level, level rod, plumb bob, measuring tapes, claw hammer, sledgehammer, shovel, pick, hook, and brush cutting tools; transports, loads, and unloads equipment and materials; checks and maintains inventory; prepares various forms, reports and documents; operates a computer to enter and update data; and performs other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a high school diploma, supplemented by one year of experience or training involving surveying.  Skills using associated instruments used currently in the industry is preferred.  Survey Certificate is desirable.
