Come work for the City!

What makes Chattanooga such a livable city?  One reason is the dedicated employees of the City of Chattanooga, who keep Chattanooga running by keeping neighborhoods safe, fighting fires, repairing streets, disposing of trash and garbage, helping citizens have fun in parks and recreation centers, and more.  We have all kinds of positions -- from accountants to zookeepers -- that combine interesting careers with a love of public service.  If you want a stable job with opportunities for growth, good benefits, and the satisfaction of service to your fellow citizens, consider working for the City of Chattanooga.

Segal Compensation Study (Pay Study) Results

In keeping with the Mayor’s earlier commitment to inform employees of the progress of the Segal compensation study, the report from the Segal Company is now available on our website at www.chattanooga.gov.   Please note that the consultants’ recommendations have not been adopted by Administration or the City Council.  If the decision is made to adopt the recommendations in whole or in part, employees will receive notice of their position title and their pay grade.   Employees will then have an opportunity to appeal before pay assignments are made.

Employees or interested parties are welcome to send comments or questions to the Personnel Department.  These comments and questions will be used to update the Clasification and Compensation Study FAQ page.

We appreciate the hard work and input our employees have provided in this study.
