Mayor Ron Littlefield Shoots Hoops From Wheelchair with Siskin Rebounders.

9/27/2005

Chattanooga, TN—Mayor Ron Littlefield hopes for “nothing but net” as he tries his hand at wheelchair basketball with the Siskin Rebounders wheelchair basketball team.

“I’m very excited to try this sport with such a motivated and high-spirited bunch of folks,” said Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield.  “This is something I’ve always wanted to do and with Go!Fest this Saturday on the waterfront, I’ve got the perfect reason.”

Go!Fest, slated for this Saturday, October 1st, is one of Mayor Littlefield’s first initiatives as Mayor of Chattanooga. “It’s time we as a city celebrate everyone’s unique talents.  That’s what Go!Fest is all about, celebrating everyone’s abilities,” said Mayor Littlefield.

The Siskin Rebounders is a competitive team made up of members of various ages and disabilities. They are the 2005 Division III Champions of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA). Siskin Hospital is proud to sponsor the Rebounders and enrich the lives of those limited by physical disabilities.

The media is encouraged to cover Mayor Ron Littlefield and the Siskin Rebounders in this exciting event.
