2008 Curbside Recycling Dates
![]() 1/4/2008Chattanooga, Tennessee – The City of Chattanooga’s Department of Public Works would like to remind all citizens that curbside recyclables will be collected in Area 1 on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. Area 2 pickup will be on January 16, Area 3 pickup will be on January 23 and Area 4 pickup will be on January 30. Curbside recycling pickup begins for Area 1 on the Wednesday following the first Monday of each month. Curbside collection for areas 2, 3 and 4 will follow Area 1 pickup accordingly. For assistance in determining your Recycle Wednesday, please visit www.recycleright.org or call 3-1-1. Recyclables must be placed curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection day in blue or clear bags or in a covered bin clearly marked “Recycle.” The following recyclable items may be placed on the curb for collection: cardboard, newspaper, all paper grades (except shredded), plastic #1 and #2 bottles with a neck (look for the triangular recycle symbol on the bottle to determine the plastic number), aluminum cans and steel cans that have been rinsed out. Recycling Convenience Centers Locations: Hours of Operation: All items collected through curbside pickup may also be taken to recycling convenience centers with the addition of shredded paper, glass bottles (brown, green and clear), wet or dry cell batteries and small electronics (no televisions or microwaves). Brush Collection Please follow these brush collection guidelines: Place brush in small piles on the curb during the 7 days prior to collection week. Do not place brush near utility poles or mailboxes. Do not mix brush with other materials, and place bagged leaves in separate piles at street side.
