Neighborhood Partners Program Awardees Announced

12/13/2007

Chattanooga – The 2007 - 2008 Neighborhood Partners Program (NPP) recipients were announced today in a ceremony held at Warehouse Row.  The purpose of the Neighborhood Partners Program is to provide assistance to neighborhood projects that substantially, positively, and measurably impact the community.  Mayor Ron Littlefield and the Chattanooga City Council appropriated funding to the Department of Neighborhood Services and Community Development for the Neighborhood Partners Program.

This year 14 neighborhood associations and community organizations applied for NPP funding.  12 were approved for approximately $43,000.00 for the following three types of projects:

Neighborhood Development - Projects that strengthen and develop strong, independent, and capable neighborhoods and further encourage educational achievement in our communities.

Neighborhood Safety - Projects that focus on the health, welfare, and safety of Chattanooga’s neighborhoods.
