Brownfields Assessment Meeting

What: Community Meeting for the Alton Park Community Brownfields Assessment Project
Who: Residents, Business Owners, Property Owners, and other Stakeholders in Alton Park
When: 5:30– 6:30 p.m., Monday, August 10
Where: Southside Community Health Center, 100 E. 37th street

In 2006, the City of Chattanooga was awarded a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to assess previously used properties which are currently abandoned or underused in the Alton Park area.  This grant money can only be used for site inventory, site assessment, community involvement, health review and monitoring as well as developing a cleanup and redevelopment plan. The City has completed the assessments and will share the result with the community.  The Tennessee Department of Health will also review the related Health Risk Assessment.
