Dance Alive & Dance Elite at Ballet Tennessee

Close to 40 local children ages 8 through 12 have been selected to particpate in this year's Ballet Tennessee Dance Alive and Dance Elite summer dance camps.

The Dance Alive & Dance Elite Project is a grant funded outreach program with Ballet Tennessee and the City's Parks and Recreation Department where youth from the city's recreation centers participate in formal classes and performance experiences. 

During the two week program participants learn several styles of dance from Ballet Tennessee's creative directors, instructors and guest artists. Dance Alive students are children new to dance and receive instruction and skills development. Students in the Dance Elite program are children who have participated in Dance Alive and are ready for a more advanced level of training.

At the end of program, the students present what they have learned in a special concert performance.  This year the performance will be on Friday, July 24th at the UTC Fine Arts Center.
