Chattanooga, Tennessee - The Chattanooga Local Redevelopment Authority will hold a final hearing on September 17 to receive public comment regarding disposition of a portion of the Chattanooga Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant.  The meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Development Resource Center, 1250 Market Street, Room 2 D.

The purpose of the meeting will be to receive final comments from the public concerning the disposal of a portion of the Chattanooga Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant, U.S. Army Reserve Center, declared surplus by the Department of Defense.  The property in question consists of Building 228, Building 229, a parking shed, and approximately two acres of land.

One application was submitted during the official three month screening period which ended November 14, 2008.  The application is from the Hamilton County Department of Education and is on file and available for review in the Hamilton County Real Property Office, 4th Floor Mayfield Annex, 123 E. 7th Street, Chattanooga, TN  37402.
