![]() 4/22/2008Third Annual Fair Housing Luncheon The City of Chattanooga’s Office of Multicultural Affairs will host the third Annual Fair Housing Luncheon on Thursday, April 24. The keynote speakers for the event will be Beverly L. Watts, Executive Director of the Tennessee Human Rights Commission. Watts has appointed to the executive director position in 2007. Prior to the appointment, she served as Special Advisor to the Chair at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She has also served as Executive Director of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, Past President of the International Association of Official Human Rights Agencies, and Past Chair of Women Executives in State Government. The Office of Multicultural Affairs was created by Mayor Ron Littlefield. Their mission is to encourage understanding and goodwill, to promote justice, and to eliminate discriminatory practices between and among the citizens of Chattanooga. Hosting the Annual Fair Housing Luncheon promotes this mission by raising awareness of discrimination issues and by providing a forum to share resources and prevent discriminatory housing practices.
