To make your visit even more fun, make sure to stay and listen to our new "Keeper Chats". Every Saturday and Sunday at 3:00 and 4:00 learn what it's like to work with specific animals, directly from the keepers that work with them. It changes each week, so check with the front staff to see which animals are being featured! This is free with admission!

Cocktails for Conservation: Jaguars - Friday, February 20th (6-8pm)

You're invited to the first Cocktails for Conservation of 2009 where you can enjoy drinks, light hors d'oeuvres, and fun to help the Chattanooga Zoo raise awareness for field research projects with jaguars of Argentina. Cost is only $20 per person and includes free beer and wine. Cocktails will be available for only $4.00 each. All funds benefit jaguar research and the renovation and expansion of the Zoo's jaguar exhibit. Call (423) 697-1319 for more information or to purchase tickets. Sponsored by Big River Grille.

Spring Forward for Frogs! - Saturday, March 7th (10am-2pm)

To continue the momentum from the 2008 Year of the Frog, the Chattanooga Zoo is working with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to host amphibian awareness activities that coincide with daylight saving time. We will have activities including special frog species on display, a jump rope contest, crafts and much more to celebrate frogs and amphibians! Zoo members receive FREE admission to this event (must present membership card at the Zoo entrance).



Spring Break Safari! - Friday, March 13th - April 17th

The Chattanooga Zoo is partnering with the Chattanooga Convention and Visitors Bureau to promote fun activities for families to do around the City during their spring breaks. As a part of of the program, the Zoo is offering Guided Tours Thursday-Sunday, starting at 10am until 5pm (tours will last about two hours). Participating children receive a Zoo memorabilia pack for participating during this special offer! The cost (including admission) is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for kids. Hug a Bunny - Saturday, April 4th (11am-2pm)

Celebrate the arrival of spring with a visit to the Zoo! See all the Zoo's resident bunnies, and enjoy fun-filled day of games and crafts. The Easter Bunny will also be making his annual visit to the Zoo, so the kids will definitely not want to miss this out on all the fun! Zoo members receive FREE admission to this event (must present membership card at the Zoo entrance).


Earth Day - Wednesday, April 22nd (10am-3pm)


Party for the Planet - Saturday, April 25th(11am-3pm)

Be a hero for the planet with Wolverine and learn about the environment with fun activities for kids and adults. Booth will be set-up throughout the Zoo with information about outdoor activities, making sound environmental decisions, and protecting wildlife. Zoo members receive FREE admission to this event (must present membership card at Zoo entrance).

Spirits in the Wild - Saturday, May 16th (7-10pm)

Join us for an evening of delectable wines and spirits, delicious food, and great music. Spirits in the Wild is fast becoming a Chattanooga spring-time tradition, and is a great way tot support the Zoo. Tickets are $40.00 in advance and $50.00 at the door. Tickets purchased after May 8, 2009 will be available at the will-call table the night of the event. Online ticket sales will end at noon on the day of the event; tickets needing to be purchased after that time can be done by calling 423-697-1319.


Dreamnight - Friday, May 29th (5:30-7pm)

Dreamnight is an event that offers a Zoo visit to families of special needs children that acknowledges and accommodates the unique circumstances that generally limit or prohibit relaxing outings for these families during normal public operating hours. We will have behind-the-scenes tours, up close animal encounters, activities, food and free gifts available thanks to the generosity of long-time Zoo supporters, Unum. This event is free, so we require a reservation to attend. Please call 423-697-1319 to reserve your spot today.

Hank's Day - Saturday, June 20th (10am-3pm)

Join the entire Zoo staff as we celebrate the 41st birthday of our most beloved resident, Hank the Chimpanzee! Hank's Day continues to be one of the favorite Zoo events among families and children and it's especially exciting for the chimp of honor. We'll have birthday cake and ice cream (while it lasts!), birthday gifts for the chimp of the day and lots of fun all around! Curious George will also be making a special appearance thanks to the generosity of our friends at the Creative Discovery Museum. This event is half-price for individual, family and grandparent membership holders, and FREE for Director's Circle members, so make sure to bring your card with you!

Enrichment Day - July 11th (10-3pm)

Join us for the third annual Enrichment Day at the Zoo! This event involves guests in the creation of activities and treats for the Zoo’s animals. Enrichment Day activities are $5.00 per family. Regular zoo admission prices also apply (Zoo Members receive FREE admission).

You're invited to the second Cocktails for Conservation of 2009 where you can enjoy drinks, light hors d'oeuvres, and fun to help the Chattanooga Zoo raise awareness for field research and breeding projects in North America. Hellbenders are the third largest species of salamanders, found in many places including Tennessee, and are threatened with extinction. All funds benefit the Zoo's Hellbender conservation programs in partnership with Lee University. Cost is only $20 per person in advance and $30 the day of the event. Recycle Your Phonebook! - July 18-August 15

It’s often said that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Well, instead of trashing your old telephone directories you can turn them into a treasure full of cash at various local community attractions during this year’s recycling campaign sponsored by AT&T Real Yellow Pages. The campaign begins July 18 and runs through August 15. When you bring your outdated directory to the Chattanooga Zoo, you'll receive a coupon page for $2.00 off each admission ticket for up to four people at each attraction - Creative Discovery Museum, TN Aquarium, Chattanooga Lookouts, IMAX theater, River Gorge Explorer, and of course, the Zoo!
