Becoming a Zoo volunteer or docent is a great way to help the Zoo and be involved in the community. Volunteer and docent opportunities are available in nearly every aspect of the Zoo's operation. Whether its animal care, educating the public, landscaping, or office support, there's a place for you at the Chattanooga Zoo! Get involved with the Zoo today! Volunteer ProgramDesigned for young adults interested in a zoo or animal career. Typical duties include assisting staff with animal care, landscaping, and special events. Docent ProgramThe Chattanooga Zoo docent program is designed for adults who are interested in educating the public about the Zoo's animals as well as conservation and wildlife issues. A docent's primary focus is interacting with and educating Zoo visitors, welcoming visitors when they enter the Zo, and assisting with special education program and events.
