: Zoo Camps
 Summer Camp 2009! Plans for Zoo Camp 2009 are well underway! After receiving valuable feedback form last year’s participants, the Zoo is making a few changes and providing some exciting new programs for our campers. Kids will discover the Zoo like never before with exotic adventures, engaging, hands-on activities, and plenty of interaction with their favorite animal friends Parents will appreciate the fact that we have an all-new system for camper sign-in and sign-out, providing a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all of our children. The Zoo has provided a child friendly environment since opening our doors seventy years ago. We constantly look for ways to make a visit entertaining, educational, and secure. We believe those are some of the reason so many folks choose to visit us! Member Registration Opens Monday, February 2, 2009 at 9:00am. Click to Register! Non-Member Registration: Begins Monday, March 2 at 9:00am. Click to Register! Registration for Zoo Members opens February 2. Zoo Members receive priority registration until March 2 when registration opens to the public. An additional $5.00 processing fee will be charged to applicants who do not register online. Age 3-4 This age group will enjoy learning the difference between birds, mammals, and reptiles. Campers enjoy hands-on encounters with the Zoo's education animals, along with a daily story time, sing-along, and tour of the Zoo. Meet from 9:00am – 12:00pm. Cost is $75.00 for Members; $90.00 for Non-members. Available Dates: June 1-5; June 8-12, June 22-26, July 6-10, July 13-17 and July 20-24 ZooAbility ZooAbility is designed specifically for children with special needs. Campers enjoy a great week of fun animal encounters, special activities, and field trips. This camp requires a separate application. Please contact Elaine Adams at (423) 697-1345 or Janella Butler at (423) 643-5780 Available Dates: June 15-19 and July 27-31 Ages 5-6 This group enjoys behind-the-scenes animal encounters and experiences a short lesson on caring for the Zoo’s animals. Campers also play age-appropriate games in a daily, outdoor activity period. Children also have a blast feeding the animals, as well as daily “hands-on” encounters with our education animals. A daily story time is also included. Meet daily from 9:00am – 2:00pm. Cost is $100.00 for Members, $120.00 for Non-Members. Available Dates: June 1-5; June 8-12; June 22-26; July 6-10; July 13-17; July 20-24 Ages 7-8 This group enjoys behind-the-scenes animal encounters and experiences a short lesson on caring for the Zoo’s animals. Campers also enjoy outdoor games and a field trip on Friday. An overnight zoo experience is also included. Meet daily from 9:00am – 2:00pm. Cost is $120.00 for Members, $145.00 for Non-Members. Available Dates: June 1-5; June 15-19; June 22-26; July 6-10; July 20-24; July 27-31 Overnight Dates: (pick one) June 19, July 10, or July 31 Ages 12-14 This camp prepares children to be volunteers at the Chattanooga Zoo. Campers learn to clean, feed, and care for a portion of the Zoo’s animals every day. Other volunteer skills are taught such as landscaping and interpretive skills. This group still has fun with games, crafts, and a field trip. An overnight zoo experience is also included. Meet daily from 9:00am – 2:00pm. Cost is $100.00 for Members, $120.00 for Non-Members.
