Homeland Security & Criminal Intelligence Reporting

The Department of Homeland Security assumes primary responsibility for ensuring that emergency response professionals are prepared for any situation as best they possibly can be.  In the event of a terrorist attack, natural disaster, or other large-scale emergency, the Department of Homeland Security will provide a coordinated comprehensive federal response and mount a swift and effective recovery effort.

In addition to preparing for disasters in advance, the Chattanooga Police Department also has an Intelligence Unit dedicated to obtaining and disseminating suspected criminal and/or potential terrorist activity to local police and State and Federal agencies. 

Anyone with information of criminal activity on either a local, regional, state or national scale is asked to contact Chattanooga Police Sergeant Randy Noorbergen at 423.643.5037, or to pass on any information of a suspious criminal nature to him at his Email address, noorbergen_r@chattanooga.gov
