: Garbage Pick-Up Schedule

City Wide Services-Sanitation

Regular Garbage Service : Acceptable items are food scraps, non-recyclable paper, glass and plastic. Items should be placed in plastic bags or garbage cans with a maximum size of 30 gallons. Garbage is collected once a week.


Automated Waste Collection: Acceptable items are food scraps, non-recyclable paper, glass or plastic. Use of the 95 gallon city issued cart is required. Garbage is collected once a week. Please bag all garbage.


Dual Blue Bag Recycling: Acceptable items are plastic, paper, and cardboard.  Items should be placed in blue or semi-transparent plastic bags and set out at the curbside on the scheduled day. Recyclables are collected one Wednesday per month for each area. For more information visit www.recycleright.org or view the service schedule to see when the crews will be in your area.


Brush Collection: Acceptable items include wood waste, limbs, brush, leaves and grass clippings.- no building materials or cross ties. Materials are collected from curbside with front-end loaders and small dump trucks. Materials should be stacked neatly on the curb, out of the roadway or curbside ditches. Leaves should be bagged. The City is divided into four areas, each area is serviced once a month.


Trash Flash: Acceptable items are bulky items such as appliances, furniture, mattresses, water heaters, etc. Materials are collected with an articulated boom truck/trailer. Materials should be set out at curbside. Up to 3 items can be picked up at one time. Residents should contact the 311 Call Center to arrange for this service. The City is divided into five areas which are serviced once a week.


Household Hazardous Waste: This is where a citizen can take items that cannot be disposed of through normal means. Examples of such items are Household cleaners, fuels, oils and pesticides. These items can be taken to the 3925 North Hawthorne Street on the second Saturday of the month. The facility is open from 8:00 to 12:00 noon.
