The Chattanooga Southeast Tennessee Film Commission was established in 2006 as an outreach of the City of Chattanooga Department of Education, Arts & Culture. The Chattanooga Southeast Tennessee Film Commission was recognized by Governor Phil Bredesen through the Tennessee State Film, Entertainment, & Music Commission and serves as an office providing access to information, government permits, a locations database, and facilitation of needs to be addressed or responded to through the State Film Commission.

Since the beginning of the Chattanooga Southeast Tennessee Film Commission, we are thrilled by the increased level of activity, as well as by the talent, services, and facilities available for any filmmaker to have a successful filming experience from start to finish.  In its first six years the Film Commission has recruited major productions like a national commercial for Yamaha, major motion films like "Leatherheads", “Water for Elephants," "42," and television like “Extreme Makeover" and “American Idol.” And recently, Broadway shows like “Legally Blonde” and “Fiddler on the Roof” have built their national tours here.

Consider the Chattanooga Southeast Tennessee Film Commission as one of your first stops in filmmaking. For the first time ever in Chattanooga the local film community is organized and poised to assist any filmmaker.
