08-28-2012 Firefighters Save Old Warehouse

Shortly before 3:00 this afternoon, 911 Communications dispatched six fire companies to a reported warehouse fire at 716 E. 12th Street. There were multiple calls to 911, reporting that flames were shooting out the windows of the old, unoccupied warehouse.

Once on the scene, the firefighters made their way inside the smoke-filled structure and managed to contain the fire to a front office. Battalion Chief Phil Hyman said the fire was brought under control in about five minutes. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
