09-11-2012 Firefighters Recognized on 9/11 Anniversary

Assistant Fire Marshal Chuck Hartung, a Hixson High alumni, was also on hand for the presentation and on behalf of the firefighters present, accepted the award from Principal Lee Sims.

In making the presentation this afternoon at a faculty meeting, Principal Sims said the award was for "Making a difference in our community through caring and service." Principal Sims said the award was also meant for "all emergency responders in the area, who daily put their lives on the line to protect us."
