Station 17

Station 17--Reduced

Station 17 is located at:
628 Signal Mountain Boulevard
Chattanooga, TN  37405 [map]

Station 17 serves the northwest portion of the city that borders Red Bank. Station 17 has 15 assigned personnel, 5 per shift, and responds to residential fires, high rise alarms, vehicle fires, brush fires, emergency medical incidents, and many other non emergency situations to assist in the community.

Station 17 was organized in 1969. The company began with a Seagraves Pumper and was housed in what was a new station at 628 Signal Mountain Road. There have been many changes over the years and at one time during the early 80's, Number 8 Ladder Company was created and housed at Station 17. This company was later disbanded for staffing reasons. Station 17 was then chosen to receive one of the first Telesquirt apparatus. This aerial ladder/pumper combination was an ideal choice due to the growth of apartment complexes in the district. The current equipment is listed below.

This fire station houses:
Quint 17 - 75' aerial/pumper combination
Tanker 17 - Water tender support
Hose Truck 17 - Hose support truck

The Station Coordinator is Captain Craig Haney. He can be reached at haney_james@chattanooga.gov.
