2-7-17 Traffic Crash/Fatality - 490 Greenway View Dr.

INITIAL RELEASE:

Chattanooga Firefighters extricated a man from an overturned vehicle after it's located in a retention pond. Chattanooga Police are working to determine what led to the crash.

On Tuesday, February 7, 2017 a single vehicle rollover collision with entrapment occurred at 490 Greenway View Drive. The following are the preliminary facts of that investigation:

• A 2001 Cadillac coupe was traveling north when it left the roadway, overturning in a retention pond
• The vehicle was occupied by one person who was extricated by the Chattanooga Fire Department
• The driver was taken by HCEMS to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition
• Evidence collected on scene is being processed by investigators to determine the cause of the crash
• Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Division are following all leads and ask any witnesses to call police immediately
• Further information concerning the victim and the investigation will be released when updates are available
