4-7-17 Motor Vehicle Crash/Homicide

At 1:43 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017, Chattanooga Police responded to​ a single vehicle crash. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:

• ​Call came in as a single vehicle crash with person running from the scene​
• Officers were able to locate person fleeing from the scene and detained him for questioning
• ​A CPD K-9 discovered a firearm near the wrecked vehicle
• Other officers at the scene discovered a deceased female in the trunk of the crashed vehicle
• ​The deceased appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound
• Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are actively working the investigation​

Suspect:

Joshua Mincy (male, 25)

Charges: Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of a Firearm (convicted felon), Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Dangerous Felony, Abuse of Corpse, Driving on a Revoked License, Leaving Scene of Accident

Victim:

Tammy Hall  (female, 47)
