10-26-17 5053 Hunter Rd. - Suspect in Custody/Shots Fired

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on October 26, 2017 Chattanooga Police Officers responded to a Shots Fired call in the vicinity of 5053 Hunter Rd. The following are the preliminary facts of the incident:

• Witnesses told CPD Officer​s they observed a white male standing on an overpass firing what's described as a shotgun or rifle at vehicles traveling on Interstate 75
• The suspect is described as a white male, thin build, short hair with what appears to be a white/grey patch in the front of his hairline
• ​Suspect was wearing ​camouflage-style pants and did not have a shirt on
• The ​Chattanooga Police Department is actively investigating this incident
• CPD Officers were assisted by Tennessee Highway Patrol and Hamilton County Sheriffs Office Deputies
