2-6-18 - Traffic Crash/Fatality - 17900 I-24 East

• ​Three vehicles were involved in the crash, all traveling east on I-24
• Vehicle 1 was entering the interstate from Market St, attempting to merge into I-24
• Driver of Vehicle 1 attempted to change lanes too closely to Vehicle 2
• Vehicle 1 spun across all lanes of travel and into and under Vehicle 3 (Kenworth) which was traveling in the lane to the left of Freightliner
• An unrestrained passenger was ejected from Vehicle 1 and died from injuries on scene
• All other passengers in Vehicle 1 were transported via Hamilton County EMS to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries
• ​CPD ​Traffic Division ​will continue this crash investigation and submit its findings at a later date
• No charges expected to be filed at this time

Deceased Passenger: Juvenile​
