On September 3, 2018 the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a shooting on the 2100 block of Vance Ave. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:

• Upon arrival, officers located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound
• The victim had succumbed to his injuries prior to police arrival
• A crime scene was established to collect physical evidence
• Members of the Violent Crime Bureau are actively investigating this incident.
