UPDATE: ARREST/9-24-18 Traffic Crash/Fatality - 3210 Cummings Hwy.

On October 10, 2018 the Chattanooga Police Department Traffic Division received an anonymous tip regarding a possible suspect vehicle that may have been involved in this fatal hit and run. Working with information provided, CPD Traffic Investigators were able to locate the vehicle, a black 2008 Lincoln Town Car, along with Korey Reeves, the vehicle's owner. As a result of the evidence collected Reeves was charged accordingly and is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

Leaving the Scene Involving a Fatality, Failure to Render Aid, Failure to Report an Accident

On 09/24/2018 at approximately 5:18 p.m. a fatal injury crash occurred at 3210 Cummings Highway. Traffic Division responded to the scene. The following was determined through interview, investigation and observation:

• Vehicle #2 was stopped facing west in the #1 travel lane waiting to turn into the Taco Bell located at 3210 Cummings Hwy.
• Vehicle #1 was traveling west in the #1 travel lane. Vehicle #3 was traveling east in the #2 travel lane. Vehicle #4 was traveling east in the #1 travel lane.
• Vehicle #1 struck the rear of Vehicle #2 causing it to veer off into the east bound lanes of travel where it was struck by Vehicle #4 in the right side.
• Vehicle #1 then rotated after impact where it was struck in the front right side by Vehicle #3.
• The occupants of Vehicle #2 were transported to Erlanger Hospital and Childrens Hospital at Erlanger by HCEMS.
• Driver #1 remained on scene not needing medical attention. Driver #3 and Driver #4 were both transported to Erlanger Hospital via personal vehicles.
• The passenger (juvenile) of Vehicle #2 succumbed to her injuries due to the crash.
• Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Division are actively investigating the crash.
