CALLS TO ARTISTS 

RFQ: Riverwalk - I-24 Underpass
OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS

Artwork Budget: $220,000

OVERVIEW:
Public Art Chattanooga (PAC) and the Chattanooga Department of Transportation (CDOT) seek artists' qualifications for the commission, design and installation of an artwork that transforms and enlivens the I-24 Underpass which spans across a section of the recently opened Tennessee Riverpark Extension in Chattanooga, TN. This opportunity is open to artists and/or artist led teams in the U.S. Artist led teams including architects, landscape architects, engineers, lighting and sound designers are encouraged to apply. The receipt deadline is August 17, 2017, by 4:00pm EST. This project is made possible by generous grants from the Benwood and Lyndhurst foundations.

OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS + DESIGN TEAMS

Proposal Honorarium:​ $4,000
Artwork Budget: ​$370,750

OVERVIEW: Public Art Chattanooga seeks artist led multi-disciplinary design team's artistic qualifications to design and fabricate a permanent, public art installation that will activate and animate the recently completed park space at the Wheland Foundry Trailhead in Chattanooga's TN Riverpark. Up to three teams will be selected as semi-finalists. Each semi-finalist will be awarded a $4,000 stipend to develop a site specific proposal. This opportunity is open to design teams in the U.S. Artist led teams including architects, landscape architects, engineers and lighting designers are encouraged to apply. The receipt deadline is August 3, 2017, by 4:00pm EST. This project is made possible by generous grants from the Benwood and Lyndhurst foundations.

RFQ: The Ed Johnson Project
OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS AND DESIGN TEAMS
Request for Qualifications Deadline: Thursday, July 27, 2017 by 12 pm EST
Proposal Honorarium: $5,000 (funding secured)
Project Implementation Budget: $400,000 (fundraising goal)

OVERVIEW: The project seeks to commemorate events associated with the lynching of Ed Johnson, honor the courageous work of his attorneys, and recognize the resulting United States Supreme Court case that changed civil rights law in America. It should be a welcoming space that aspires to healing and reconciliation.
