12-13-16 Emergency Services Minority Internship Program

In an effort to recruit and retain highly motivated members of the Chattanooga Police Department, Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County 911, the Emergency Services Minority Internship Program will provide part-time employment so each Intern can experience a comprehensive awareness of public safety fields, including police, fire, and emergency communications.

Each Intern will earn $15 per hour during a 20-hour work week. The length of each Internship is 12-weeks, and 15 Interns will be hired for the Spring 2017 semester (February-May).

Interns will be non-sworn, unarmed and will not participate in any actual hands-on activities on police or fire scenes. However, interns may participate in training exercises designed to simulate real-life scenarios.

The selection process will include a job application, a comprehensive background check and an interview process.

Please contact CPD Lt. Jim DePrimo 423.643.5264 or jdeprimo@chattanooga.gov for more details.

Application deadline is Thursday, December 22, 2016.
