On 09/24/2018 at 2049 hours CPD Traffic was notified about a possible pedestrian struck at 7356 Lee Hwy. The following information was obtained from the scene:

 

  • The reporting party advised she was driving south on Lee Hwy and noticed a shoe in the center turning lane and a body in the ditch.
  • HCEMS arrived on scene and confirmed the victim was deceased.
  • The victim's fanny pack and do-rag were found in the middle of the south bound travel lane.
  • Roadway evidence suggests that the victim was walking on Lee Hwy and was struck by an unknown vehicle.
  • The suspect vehicle fled the scene.
  • Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Division are actively investigating the crash.
