10-4-18 UPDATE: ARREST/Pedestrian Struck Hit & Run - 2100 Milne St.


Traffic Investigators located the suspect thanks to video obtained from one of the CPD public safety cameras, video from another source, and a tip received from a community member who asked to remain anonymous. The tipster stated to police she saw the information about the hit and run on local television news and recognized the vehicle.

The 3-year-old child that was struck suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Robinson is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

On October 3, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. CPD Traffic Unit responded to a report of a pedestrian struck at 2100 Milne Street. The following information was determined through interview, investigation, and observation:

  • The reporting party advised Investigators she parked her vehicle, the child who was a passenger in the vehicle exited, and walked around to the back of the vehicle
  • The child was struck by a vehicle traveling East on Milne St. in the wrong lane for that direction of travel
  • After striking the 3-year-old child, the vehicle fled the scene despite multiple witness attempts to stop the driver
  • Vehicle was last seen traveling south on Dodson Avenue
  • Driver was described by witnesses as a black male in his twenties with shoulder length braided hair
  • Vehicle is a silver Chevy Trailblazer with a bicycle rack on the rear with a bicycle attached at the time of impact
  • Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Unit are actively investigating the crash.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Chattanooga Police Mobile App. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
