The Chattanooga Fire Department had multiple companies respond to a house fire on the city’s south side Tuesday around 11:15 PM.

It happened in the 4100 block of Dorris Street.

When crews arrived, heavy fire was coming through the roof and neighbors advised that there was possibly someone still inside the home.

It is with heavy hearts that the Chattanooga Fire Department announces a tragic development in a fire we worked on E 36th Street.

One of the victims, a three-year-old child, has passed away from his injuries.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this very difficult time. This is a loss for his loved ones, the community and our department," said Chattanooga Fire Chief Phil Hyman.

A water main break causing water outages in Chattanooga has CFD has mobilizing resources.

Without the use of hydrants, tankers must be used to fight fires.

Additional crews are being brought in to assist the Chattanooga Fire Department during this water outage.

The Chattanooga Fire Department, along with the East Ridge Fire Department, responded to a house fire in the 3000 block of 6th Ave.

Once on the scene, firefighters found a small fire in the window on the side of the home.

Crews had the fire extinguished in a matter of minutes.

A search was conducted and no one was located inside the house. It appears to be vacant.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The cause of a church fire on Rossville Boulevard is under investigation right now, but the quick action of a Good Samaritan allowed firefighters to get on scene quickly.

It happened at 1:24 pm at the corner of Rossville Boulevard and East 37th Street at Iglesia Pentecostes Del Principe De Paz.

A passerby noticed heavy black smoke coming out of a window in the back of the church and alerted authorities.
