What is Rain Barrel Distribution Day?

An annual event the Water Quality Program (WQP) offers where City homeowners can purchase rain barrels at a subsidized price.

Am I eligible?

• If you live within city limits & own your home, you can purchase up to 2 rain barrels at a subsidized price. If you are renting & wish to purchase, you must have the home owner's approval, as installation of a rain barrel requires cutting the gutter downspout

• If you live outside of Chattanooga City limits, you can still purchase a rain barrel- but at a non-subsidized rate

• Must be up to date on water quality fee

How does the event work?

• Rain barrels are purchased online (approval pending based on mailing address)

  • PURCHASE RAIN BARRELS HERE

• All details of pick up date/time etc. are emailed to the purchaser

• Rain barrels are picked up on the "distribution day" by the purchaser. Drive up, & the WQP staff will check your receipt & load your purchased rain barrel(s) into your vehicle for you

• Rain Barrel Distribution Day is part of the RainSmart program, so rain barrels purchased through the event are not eligible for further reimbursement by RainSmart**
