The CFD Training division is dedicated to enhancing the professionalism of the department by preparing members to confront the challenges of today's Fire Service.

The CFD Training Division is one of the most diverse in the state of Tennessee. All instructors are crossed-trained in various disciplines. Each assumes a leadership role in coordinating critical aspects of training. This includes recruit fire training, extrication, hazardous materials training, driver training, officer training, medical training, USAR, monthly station schools, state required in-service training and certification updates.The staff has also been instrumental in developing training for agencies outside the department. The division has partnered with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the Hamilton County LEPC, Boy Scouts of America, and local utility companies in the recent past to provide medical, fire and safety training. The division recognizes the importance of community partnerships and continuously explores opportunities to address the safety needs of the city.

Station 22 is located at:
6144 Dayton Boulevard

Station 22 was opened in 1980 to provide primary fire protection service to the North Hixson/North Dayton Boulevard area. This station also provides backup coverage to the Northgate, Big Ridge and Mountain Creek areas. It is a single company fire hall that houses Engine 22 which is a 2012 Rosenbauer with a 500 gallon water tank and 1500 gpm pump. It also has Tanker 22, a water tender for water supply support. It is a 2013 Freightliner with an 1800 gallon tank.

Station 21 for web

Station 21 is located at:
7700 East Brainerd Road
Chattanooga, TN  37421

Station 21 is located off Interstate 75 and serves the East Brainerd area. Station 21 was built and opened in 1976. It is a single company fire hall that houses Quint 21 which is a 2005 Spartan with a 75-foot aerial, 300 gallon water tank and 1500 gpm pump. It also houses Tanker 21 which is a 2020 Freightliner with a 2000 gallon water tank. The 1892 Garnett Andrews Steamer is also kept at the station. The historic steam pumper is used for special occasions.

Station 20 is located at:
3003 Cummings Hwy
Chattanooga, TN  37419 

Station 20 is a single squad company that covers the Lookout Valley area south of Interstate 24 to Lookout Mountain. The squad provides technical rescue in addition to typical fire and emergency response. It also houses Brush Truck 20 which is used for brush fires. Squad 20 is a 2009 Rosenbauer with a 500 gallon tank. It shares borders with Station 3 to the north, Station 1 to the northeast and Station 14 to the southeast. The fire hall also houses a UTV for rescue operations in wooded areas off of hiking trails and hard-to-acess locations.

Station 19 is located at:
5400 Brunswick Lane
Chattanooga, TN  37343 [map]

Station 19 companies serve the Northgate, Big Ridge and Hixson areas. It is a double company fire hall that houses Ladder 19 (105' foot aerial/pumper) and Squad 19 (techncal rescue/pumper). Ladder 19 is a 2020 Smeal with a 105 foot aerial, 500 gallon water tank and a 1500 gpm pump. The station also houses USAR 3 for urban search and rescue operations.
