Station 3 is located in Lookout Valley. It houses Quint 3 and Tanker 3. Quint 3 is a 2001 HME with a 300 gallon water tank, 1500 gpm pump and a 75-foot aerial ladder. Tanker 3 is a 2020 Freightliner with a 2000 gallon tank. The station was opened in February of 2012 to support the surrounding community's growth. The fire hall protects a large area in the southwestern portion of the city.

Station 1 - Downtown
Station 1 is located at:

Fire Station 1 was built in 2001 and serves the greater downtown Chattanooga area. The fire station houses Quint 1 (75 foot aerial/pumper), Ladder 1 (100 foot aerial platform), Squad 1 (Technical rescue/pumper), HazMat 1 (for hazardous material responses) and Battalion Chief 1. Quint 1, Ladder 1, and Squad 1 respond to a variety of calls including residential fires, high-rise alarms, vehicle fires, brush fires, hazmat incidents and technical rescue calls. All Station 1 personnel have received training up to the Hazardous Materials Technician level. Many of these personnel, primarily on Squad 1, have also received extensive training for Urban search and Rescue, which includes high/low angle rescue, trench collapse, and confined space. Squad 1 also specializes in vehicle extrication.
History of the Chattanooga Fire Department
The Chattanooga Fire Department has a long and rich history dating back to the Civil War. Past members of this department produced a book entitled "The History of the Chattanooga Fire Department," which includes very interesting text and authentic photos related to this department that covers a time span from 1871 to the mid-1970s.
